Farming is the basis of the livelihoods of the forest adjacent communities in the Mt. Kenya region. And although they suffer from a serious shortage of monetary capital, there is a great deal of natural capital in the area. Some of these resources, such as sunflower, snowpeas and cape chestnuts have enormous actual or potential value on local and international markets. Thus developing agriculture and sustainable management of Non-Woof-Forest products are key to poverty alleviation and economic growth.

Our new frontier is to focus on economic development, opening up a range of business opportunities around agriculture, horticulture and non-wood forest products.
