How you can help / Carbon-credit partners

HSHC works with thousands of small holder farmers, who struggle daily to merely survive on the outer margins of society. Since 1995, farmers have grown millions of trees on farm. We believe this has contributed to reducing global warming through carbon sequestration. If these poor farmers can earn extra income from this contribution, they will have a better chance to access quality education, security, health care, information, all other basic services the rest of the world now takes for granted.

HSHC is exploring the opportunities for farmers to sell carbon credits to countries and companies that need to meet their national CO2 reduction target agreed to under the Kyoto protocol of the climatic change convention. This will enable the rural poor to adapt to climatic change and to benefit from emerging carbon markets, through tree cultivation and bio-diesel production. HSHC requests people involved in carbon-credit schemes to contact us.
